Spiced Oatmeal Cookies

Total Prep Time: 25 minutes Makes 24 servings
1 cup of shortening
2 cups of light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. of whole milk
2 ½ cups of flour
2 cups of old fashioned oats
1 tsp. of baker’s style baking soda
1 tsp. of salt
1 tsp. of powdered cinnamon
1. In a bowl, add in the shortening and light brown sugar. Beat with an
electric mixer until creamy in consistency. Add in the eggs and whole milk.
Beat again to incorporate.
2. In a separate bowl, add in the flour, baking soda, salt and powdered
cinnamon. Pour into the shortening mix. Stir again until just mixed.
3. Drop by the tablespoon onto baking sheets.
4. Place into the oven to bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until
baked through.
5. Remove and cool completely before serving.
